The gas lift is smooth and holds my dual monitors steady at any height, which is exactly what I needed. My back feels noticeably better after a week of switching between sitting and standing every hour or so.
The gas lift is smooth enough that my monitor doesn't wobble when I type, and I can switch between sitting and standing without even breaking my typing rhythm. It's sturdy on my existing desk and takes up less space than I thought it would, which is nice since I've got a cluttered setup anyway.
Setup took about fifteen minutes and the height adjustment is genuinely smooth, even with my laptop and a mug on it. Only wish the keyboard tray had a bit more depth for my mouse, but it does the job.
